Gold Plated vs Gold Filled vs Solid Gold

Gold-Plated vs. Gold-Filled vs. Solid-Gold

When it comes to shopping for jewelry to add to your collection, it's always good to know the type of jewelry you're purchasing! But are you familiar with the difference when something is Gold-Plated, Gold-Filled, or Solid-Gold? If not, you've come to the right place to find out! Let's get into it 😊

When a piece of jewelry is gold-plated, it's made of a non-gold metal then covered with a layer of gold on the outside.

Gold-filled is similar in the sense that the base is a non-gold metal as well. The only difference is that the layer of gold is a lot thicker in density.

And when a piece of jewelry is solid-gold, it's made of a gold alloy that makes up majority of the material throughout.

A lot of our pieces are gold-plated, but can last for years on end. So you're getting quality pieces for the fraction of the costs when purchasing gold-filled or solid-gold jewelry.

What Gogo Lush pieces will you add to your collection? ✨
